Causes of Rape Hard Case Revealed

The increasing number of cases of sexual crimes was recently invited concerns. Ironically, not all sex crimes cases successfully brought to court because of lack of evidence. It often happens, the evidence is lost because the victim arrived late or negligence of medical personnel during the examination.

Forensic medical expert dr. Slamet Poernomo SPF states, in cases involving the human body, especially moral evil (rape), the search process, the collection and examination of the evidence becomes very important.

"The only thing that can help make light of sexual abuse cases is that we (medical examiner) who examined the victim the first time," said Slamet at the seminar The Role of Forensic Medicine in the Justice System, in the Hall of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, Jakarta Tuesday Salemba, (15 / 5/2012).

Knowledge of biological evidence, whether the search, security, inspection, and analysis are very important to know by any physician. Because the errors in the collection and enforcement would undermine the findings given the biological findings will be easily damaged or degraded.

"It should be noted as well. To date we receive a lot of cases of sexual crimes can not be forwarded by the investigator because the evidence did not exist," he said.

Evidence on the victim's body

In the case of rape, the evidence found in the victim's body (the body inside and out), or clothing. That's because when a sexual crime occurs, the interface between the perpetrator and the victim not inevitable, that it must have a lot of that is in the body of the perpetrator is the victim's body, and vice versa.

Therefore, the search and collection of evidence, especially blood, semen and pubic hair becomes very important. The existence of this evidence to determine the occurrence of rape as well as find out the perpetrators of rape. But the barriers are, the evidence is easily lost when the victim arrived late or had a shower.

"They (victims) always comes more than two days. Most of them have a dilemma (hesitant to report). Yet in many parts of the victim's body of evidence from the perpetrator," he explained.

Even so, sometimes omissions are also often carried out by the examining physician. Therefore, the search should be extra careful. There are some specific techniques that must be considered by every doctor who examined the victim of rape, among others:

First, the victim should disrobe on a pedestal / paper width, so the evidence that falls can be accommodated on the base. Second, for taking the evidence in the body, such as the vagina, then use a cotton bud / swab. Similarly on the anal and oral cavity (no special KIT for taking of evidence). Third, for the blood and sperm are still wet can be taken with a pipette or a sterile gauze, while the dry can be used pincet or scraped.
